Sewer ejector pumps are used in basement bathrooms in situations where the bathroom, kitchen, or laundry room can not drain by gravity, so it needs to pump the sewage/water up into the existing drain system.

Sewer ejectors are not designed for use with wet wipes or feminine hygiene products, such as tampons. None of this is good for your plumbing system, especially when using a Sewer ejector pump.

Sewer ejector pumps must be installed in a holding tank buried in the ground, properly vented, and a check valve installed to prevent water from overflowing the tank if the house experiences a significant blockage.

Sewer ejector pumps are for sewage water and are usually larger and use teeth to grind materials before pumping out of the system. Sub pumps are used for grey water and rain water.
